EXHIBIT DESIGN WORK

Mindbender Mansion

Mindbender Mansion was an exhibit that featured 40 brain teaser puzzles and 5 large full-body interactives. I designed the entire user experience including structures, mechanical interactives, touchscreen interactives, and graphic panels. I also provided art direction, set design, and prop design for video shoots and motion graphics.

The aesthetics of many different eras were combined to create a messy, playful, and a slightly chaotic environment that mimicked the creative problem solving process of inventing. As visitors went through the exhibit, they solved puzzles to collect clues and passwords. With enough passwords, they would become official Mindbenders and could create their own certificate of achievement.

Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology featured seven interactive exhibits that educated the public about the emerging field of nanotechnology and how it might impact the medical field. The content prominently featured people and their health to make the complex topic relevant to users. The designs were energetic and bright to match the high tech nature of the field. I designed the entire user experience including structures, mechanical interactives, touchscreen interactives, and graphic panels. I also provided art direction, set design, and prop design for video shoots and motion graphics.

Renewable Energy

I designed structures, graphics, and user interfaces for four portable exhibits covering various aspects of renewable energy for the Miami Science Museum. The exhibits were constructed with sustainable building materials and methods. The bright colors and graphics added a Miami feel and helped the new pieces blend in with the rest of the museum.

Water Treatment Plant

I designed a series of graphic exhibits and simple interactives for a new water treatment plant to demonstrate its unique sustainable features and cleaning process. The exhibits would be viewed during guided tours and were placed outside and inside the plant.

Moneyville

Moneyville was an exhibit that explored everyday economics through 30 different interactive activities. Buildings and city objects created in a cartoonish style provided a fun and familiar space to explore a topic that kids typically find dry.

I worked on all aspects of the user experience, including concepts, construction drawings, print graphics, character design, user interface, visual design and logo design.
